Nazneen Khan is an internationally recognized leader in aquaculture and marine fisheries, with over 20 years dedicated to advancing sustainable fisheries and enhancing the resilience of coastal communities. Her extensive expertise has supported global access to seafood markets and reinforced food security. Nazneen began her career with the Bangladesh Shrimp and Fish Foundation (BSFF), where she developed her policy advocacy skills, and later joined WorldFish, focusing on food security and sustainable aquaculture in South and Southeast Asia.
Throughout her career, Nazneen has collaborated with government authorities, donors, and partners to lead initiatives addressing food security, sustainable livelihoods, and climate resilience. Her contributions have included designing and implementing seafood risk monitoring protocols, improving market access, and enhancing food safety along seafood value chains. A skilled project manager, she has a record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
As a member of the global board of governors, Nazneen remains committed to addressing challenges such as climate change and food insecurity, particularly in regions like the Ganges and Mekong Deltas. Her expertise in regulatory frameworks, risk assessment, and quality assurance continues to drive transformative solutions in aquaculture and marine fisheries, benefiting vulnerable communities and advancing the global sustainable development agenda.
